| Name |
Newton E Miller [1, 3, 4] |
| Born |
15 Oct 1883 |
Marion County, Alabama [1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9] |
- His birthday was 15 Oct but the year is not absolutely certain. Most records in his mother's Civil War pension file give his parents' marriage in 1882 (though other records vary widely on this), and his father's death just before his birth about one year later. However, Newt Miller himself was consistent with statements of his own age throughout his life. His death certificate gives 1883 as his year of birth, but his age at death as 68 years, which he wouldn't have reached yet.
