He was baptized at Hingham, Mass., Mar. 22, 1639, by Rev. Mr. Hobert. In 1659 he had a grant for a considerable tract of land southwest of Lamphrey Falls, and from 1659 to 1669 paid taxes at Oyster River. At the commencement of the Indian wars he was a member of Capt. Robert Mason's troop of horse, and was subsequently commissioned Captain. For several years previous to 1676 he lived at or near Cocheco (Dover), in the heart of the Piscataqua country. On Mar. 22 1678, he deeded his land at Dover to one John Rand, and removed to Piscataqua, Middlesex Co., N. J., where he had previously purchased 498 acres of land. In the year last named he was granted a license to keep a tavern in said New Piscataqua. It is said that the business of hotel keeping then established by him was carried on continuously under the Hull name for nearly 200 years. The records show numerous transfers of land to and from him. | Hull, Captain Benjamin (I1998)

He was most certainly the son of Claude Lab and Claire Françoise Duhaut of Anteuil. This couple had sons Gerard (1731), Nicolas (1736), and Nicolas Gerard (1740), all baptized in Anteuil. No death or marriage records have yet been obtained for two of the three. While it is not possible to be absolutely sure who is who, only one appears to have married or survived to adulthood, and his age appears to align most closely with the oldest of the three, baptized only as Gerard but known later in life as Nicolas Gerard. | Lab, Nicolas Gerard (I4830)

Henry Kimball, was born in Rattlesden, county of Suffolk, England, in 1615. He came to America, with his parents, brothers and sisters, and Scott relations on the ship, Elizabeth. He married, about 1640, Mary Wyatt, the daughter of John and Mary (?) Wyatt. (According to THE HISTORY, the Wyatt's were on the ship Elizabeth, also. There is no indication of them in lists of the passengers of the ship."
She died in Wenham, Massachusetts, 12 Aug 1672. He married, secondly, Elizabeth (Black)(Gilbert) Rayner, as her third husband. She married, 1st, as his second wife, Humphrey Gilbert, and by him had a son, John Gilbert. She married 2nd, William Rayner, the son of Thurston Rayner. He died 26 Oct 1672, after which time she married Henry Kimball. As her 4th husband, she married, about 1678, Daniel Kilham (2). Her parents are unknown.
Henry settled first in Watertown, Massachusetts, and remained there after his father moved to Ipswich. Sometime after 1646 he followed his father to that place, and about 1655 he removed to Wenham, and spent the remainder of this life in that town.
8 Nov 1657, he subscribed £3 as minister's rate, one-half in wheat, the other half in Indian corn, "at Marchant's price." In 1659 he subscribed £3.05s, one-half in corn, and in 1660-1 he contributed 10s. toward the new meeting house. He was chosen constable 22 Oct 1669.
Henry gave several depositions in court, among which was one given 4 mo. (June) 1665, wherein he states "that he never gave Goodman Symonds 5s & 6 pens a day for his boy and his bullockes, nor never did intend it, and sins the last March Corte he came to me and tould me he would take but five shillings." In 1656 he complained against Thomas Smith of Ipswich on account of Smith's cows destroying his corn about two weeks before general training; the fence was broken down.
Henry deposes in 1669 that he was 53 years old. Henry's inventory was presented in court 16.4 mo (June) 1676. Among other items are the following: "A house & 12 acres of land wh: was the widows before she married with him £40.00.00." A debt due his son Caleb "late deceased upon the acct. of house and land £25. To the Remainder of the legacy giuen him by his father yet in the executors hand about £40. To Bookes 4s." Total £177.12s. He died in Wenham in 1676. As is shown in the following agreement he left twelve children: "At a court held at Ypswich the 26 of Sept. 1676 Richard and John Kimball sons of Henry Kimball deceased administering upon their ffather Henry Kemball's estate according to the agreement between them and there mother in law doe engage to aquit there sd mother in law from all her late husband's proper debts and to discharge them out of their ffather's estate, they are also to pay to there mother in law Elizabeth Kimball £15. for the bringing up of there younger sister deborah out of wich the sayd mother is to pay the sd Deborah £5 wn she come to age.
